Understand the causes, consequences and potential solutions to global conflicts

International Studies er et fag, du l?ser som en del af din bacheloruddannelse p? RUC. Du kan l?se International Studies som en etfags-bachelor eller kombineret med andre fag.

Developing sustainable energy, fighting disinformation, building diplomatic relations to resolve conflicts – most countries face these crucial tasks, but no country can take them on alone. The great challenges of the future can only be tackled in an international setting, and to do so, you need to understand the intricate web of global relations, rules, and dilemmas that shape our world. This is what we teach you at International Studies.

At the bachelor subject International Studies, you will learn about global norms, politics, and economics, and you will acquire the tools to analyse a variety of international issues, from Danish foreign policy to the shifting power relations between the Global North and South. International Studies at Roskilde University is rooted firmly in the social sciences, combining sociology, political economy, and international politics. We have a special emphasis on the European Union and constantly update our curriculum to match current developments in the world. As a student, you will study subjects such as the role of states and other international actors, the limits and possibilities of the EU, and structural inequalities on a global level.

All teaching and project writing is conducted in English.

Din hverdag p? studiet

Studiemilj?et p? Internationale studier er – ja, internationalt. Vi har studerende fra hele verden, og det giver et mangfoldigt milj?. Du vil m?de mennesker med et anderledes syn p? verden end dig, og gennem jeres f?llesskaber f?r du nye venner og v?rdifulde erfaringer til det arbejdsliv, der venter dig.

Du m?der ogs? en flok engagerede undervisere, der altid er ?bne for sp?rgsm?l eller en god faglig diskussion. Vi afholder j?vnligt arrangementer, hvor vi fx diskuterer global sikkerhed eller genskaber den seneste COP-konference med de studerende i rollen som repr?sentanter fra forskellige lande. Et par gange hvert semester kan du komme til International Studies Space, hvor vi ogs? kommer omkring studielivet og fx dr?fter, hvordan man bedst forbereder sig p? en mundtlig eksamen eller tackler udfordringer med arbejdspres. Og s? er der selvf?lgelig fredagsbarer, fester og alt det andet, der h?rer studielivet til.
