Hanne Leth Andersen continues as Rector of Roskilde University

The Rector of Roskilde University will continue her work to strengthen the university's relations with the outside world and deliver research that contributes to solving society's challenges, and not least ensure that students have a strong and supportive study environment close to researchers.

tt备用网址 of University Pedagogy Hanne Leth Andersen will take another turn as Rector of Roskilde University. Chairman of the Board Carsten Toft Boesen is very pleased that the current rector for the past nine years wishes to continue:

“Hanne Leth Andersen is working on some very important development projects for Roskilde University and we have full confidence that she has the right combination of insight, perseverance and musicality to successfully complete the tasks. In particular, we are focused on increasing student enrolment and the employment rate of our graduates, continuing to strengthen the university's research profile and, not least, creating value for our stakeholders in Region Zealand," says Carsten Toft Boesen, chairman of the board and CEO of the engineering consultancy NIRAS.

Hanne Leth Andersen is looking forward to leading Roskilde University for another term: 

“I look forward to leading the way in strengthening and developing the quality and distinctiveness of Roskilde University’s education and research in the years to come. Today, we stand on a foundation that enable us to build the alliances necessary to be a university of the 21st century. This is precisely the work I want to focus on in the coming years, both locally and globally, because the challenges are interconnected and local partners' expectations of their university are international," says Hanne Leth Andersen.

In the past nine years, Roskilde University has had Hanne Leth Andersen as its rector, and the university has strengthened its regional role and established cooperation with a large number of municipalities and companies in Zealand. Most recently, the university has also restructured its master degree programmes and we now offer a whole new set of programmes with sharpened interdisciplinary and labour market profiles.

Hanne Leth Andersen is appointed for a new  term as rector as of 1 April 2023.

  • MA in Romance Philology, PhD in French Language.

  • She has previously been Head of Studies, Associate Dean and Centre director at Aarhus University and Director of CBS Learning Lab. She has been rector of Roskilde University since 2014.
  • She has been a member of numerous expert groups and committees, both in Denmark and abroad. She has chaired the working group of the Ministry of Education that made recommendations for anational language strategy, and was a member of the government's expert committee on the grading scale.
  • She has been made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in France, the Légion d'honneur – France's highest order.
  • Alongside her work as rector, she has published a number of research articles and books on the education system, quality, education, exam forms and language teaching.
  • Hanne Leth Andersen is 60 years old and has two grown-up sons.
