How Roskilde University contacts applicants
We will contact you about your application in the three different ways mentioned below. Although, e-Boks only applies for applicants living in Denmark.
Please ensure you regularly check the three digital platforms so you do not miss important messages and deadlines regarding your application for admission.
1) E-mail
We send e-mails to the e-mail address that you registered when you applied online at optagelse.dk. You must check this e-mail address frequently, as we may require further documentation within a very short deadline.
Please note that e-mails from Roskilde University may end up in your spam folder. You must therefore also check your spam folder on a regular basis.
2) Postbox.ruc.dk
You will be assigned a personal mailbox at postbox.ruc.dk. Letters such as receipts, reminders e.g. concerning missing documentation, letters of refusal or admission will be sent to your personal mailbox.
Your mailbox is active, when the university has registered your application. Please note that your application may not be registered until a couple of weeks after the application deadline. Once your mailbox is activated, you will receive an e-mail. It will be sent to the e-mail address you registered when you applied online at optagelse.dk.
Each time a letter is uploaded to your mailbox, you will receive a notification concerning this by e-mail. Please check the new e-mail immediately to make sure you do not miss an important message or deadline.
How to log on to postbox.ruc.dk
After you have received an e-mail with a link to postbox.ruc.dk, you can log on in one of the following ways:
- MitID: MitID is a Danish digital signature. It is a single login for public websites in Denmark. This option only applies to applicants who live in Denmark and have a Danish civil registration number (CPR number). A temporary 'self-constructed' CPR number (consisting of your date of birth in combination with four letters) is not valid for this option.
If you have or are able to get MitID, you must log on with MitID. Read more about MitID and sign up on the website of the Danish Agency for Digitisation.
- Personal code: If you are not able to get MitID, you must request a personal code from the Roskilde University by sending an e-mail to matriklen@ruc.dk . The code is sent by e-mail to the e-mail address you registered when applying online at optagelse.dk. It takes up to 5-8 days before you receive the code. When you log on to postbox.ruc.dk, you must use your personal code in combination with the constructed CPR number that you registered when you applied online at optagelse.dk
3) eBoks
If you live in Denmark and have eBoks, your letter of admission or refusal will be uploaded both to your personal mailbox at postbox.ruc.dk and to your eBoks.dk.
eBoks is a Danish digital letter box where you receive emails from e.g. from regional authorities and government bodies. To sign up for eBoks, you must have MitID, and consequently a CPR number.
