Management at Roskilde University
Board of Directors
The University Board of Directors is the final authority at the University; it lays down the guidelines for the University's organisation, long-term activities and development. The Board hires the Rector, and it hires the other top members of the University's management on the recommendation of the Rector. The Board is responsible to the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation for the University's activities.
Rectorship
Roskilde University is managed by the Rectorship, which consists of the Rector, the Pro-rector and the University Director. The day-to-day management of the University is handled by the Rector within the framework laid down by the Board of Directors. The Rector is responsible for the area of education. The Pro-rector is responsible for the area of research. The University Director is in charge of the University's administration.

Department Administration
The University has four departments, each of which has a Dean. The Dean is in charge of the day-to-day management of his/her department, including the planning and delegation of work tasks. The Dean safeguard the quality, coherence and continuity of their department's research and education. Each department has a secretariat and a Head of Secretariat who is in charge of the day-to-day administration of the department.

RUC Administration
At the Head of RUC Administration is the University Director. RUC Administration is made up of five offices, each of which is managed by a Deputy Director.
